I’m Cheryl! I’m a graphic artist with a love for fantasy, old things, magic, woodland creatures and anything that feels as though it might have a story tucked inside it. I paint digitally in Photoshop using a Wacom tablet, blending fantasy with realism, soft colors, vintage details and a little bit of whimsy. Inspired by artists such as Beatrix Potter and John Tenniel, I create artwork that feels as though it belongs to another time.
I began selling my illustrations online in 2008 while raising my 4 children. In 2017, I took my artwork on the road and began traveling to fine art festivals around the country. Today, I also have my own shop at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival and am beginning to expand into Renaissance festivals in Michigan and other states.
Lately, my imagination has been wandering off the canvas too. I love playing with paper mâché clay and have begun creating original sculptures, including my Moon Garden Collection of hand sculpted moons and mushrooms. I have a feeling there will be many more creations to come!
When I’m not creating, you’ll usually find me gardening, hunting for vintage treasures and dreaming up my next project. I believe in living a little more slowly, staying close to nature, and creating a life that feels genuinely your own.
My hope is that when you discover a piece of my artwork, it feels like you’ve found a little piece of another world to bring home.
